Un Mundo Nuevo works with birthmothers who have made the difficult decision to give up their children. Approximately 20-30 infants and toddlers, from newborns to 5 years of age, reside at Un Mundo Nuevo at any given time.

The orphanage is well maintained and the children receive a nutritious diet and loving care. All of the residents are regularly examined by a Pediatrician and a Child Psychologist who monitor their development and children with serious medical conditions are cared for at the Prodesa Clinic.

The orphanage also accepts children who have been abandoned or need temporary shelter. Working with agencies, facilitators and prospective adoptive families, Un Mundo Nuevo strives to find loving homes for all of the children, while providing birthmothers with support and education so that they may improve their lives.
